The social heart to Mariemont is the Mariemont Square, listed in the “National Register of Historic Places.” With its early 1900’s Tudor‐style architecture omnipresent in the surrounding buildings, several Cincinnati classics call Mariemont home, including Graeter’s Ice Cream, The National Exemplar Restaurant, and the Inn. In addition, many specialty shops surround the square, providing residents and visitors alike a quaint shopping experience.
Due primarily to topography in Mariemont and available land for commercial use, competitive properties to the Mariemont Towne Center are scarce. For the same reasons above, the potential for new competition in the immediate areas is minimal at best. The closest competition is the Strand, also owned by Spinnenweber Builders, Inc., a 32,000+ square foot retail center which is currently 100% occupied and located to the west of the Mariemont Towne Center. As mentioned above, the Mariemont Towne Center is home to several smaller specialty retailers with few storefronts available.
